Nsikan Louis whose legal name is Nsikan Louis Etuk, is a Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter. Born in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, she grew up in Port Harcourt and attended the famous Holy Rosary Girls Secondary School. She went on to graduate from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, now Rivers State University, Port Harcourt.
Nsikan loves the LORD and this shows in her inspiration and songwriting style. Her first song, Centre of My Life was written in 2002. However, attempts to raise money for the recording failed. The jinx was finally broken when she took a leap of faith to record and release her debut single, MERCY on October 29, 2021, followed closely by another single, HOLY released on January 6, 2022.
In 2023, Nsikan Louis’ 11-track debut album, UNBREAKABLE released on May 13 as a birthday gift to the world, earned two award nominations from Nigeria’s Joint Gospel Arts and Music Awards (JOGAMA). She eventually won in the Female Artiste of the Year category.
Nsikan Louis is passionate about children and especially their growth in the knowledge of God. Thus, an unpleasant experience on social media – where she was bullied for speaking up against featuring children below 10 years of age in a secular music video, inspired a 6-track album of children gospel songs titled, Me & Jesus. She is currently mentoring a group of young children called “The Diamonds” through the Nsikan Louis for Kids initiative.
